I.R. Pope & Sons CC has been in existence since 1980. This highly respected two way radio communications business was initially started by Ian Pope utilising the many years of experience he had in the amateur radio (ham) field. He was joined by Kevin, his son, in 1989 after completion of his NHD in Electrical Engineering (LC) and a year of travelling the world learning about the radio communications business.

In 1992 Kevin took over sole ownership of the company, having been officially appointed by Motorola Southern Africa as their factory authorised repair and express exchange centre for the Western Cape. Our modern workshops are equipped with the latest high tech testing and measurement equipment and all our technicians hold electrical engineering diplomas.
